The Route66 – 2010 Motorcycle Challenge
Temple Street Children’s Hospital and Irish 66ers prepare for their 5th trip down “the mother of all mother roads”

Welcome to the story of the Irish 66′ers. Read through our brief but memorable history since our inaugural visit to America’s Mother Road, the Will Rogers Highway, to us the Historic Route 66.

In 2002 we paid our first visit to the road that linked America, our return in 2004 planned before we reached California we have since completed the route in 2006 and 2008. Now as we ready for our September 2010 departure many will be adding a 5th notch to their saddlebags, Route 66 has the magic to do that. It is iconic, it is historic, it is wild, it is wonderful and in its totality, it is America.

The folk we meet, the genuine hospitality, the fellow cowboys of the road, the sunrise and sunsets, the scenery all lend to the mixture that makes this wonderful road so beautifully addictive. And what better way to see it than with your friends, on your bike, the immense benefit of mutual recollection forever etched on your life’s history sheet.

Always with us are those we represent, the fantastic children of Temple Street Children’s Hospital, the magnificent staff who care for them and the many people who support us in our fundraising for this great Hospital. They are our Biker Buddies and on their behalf the Irish 66′ers have so far raised €1.5 million euro on our four, previous Challenges. With our 5th just over a year away we look forward to flying a wonderful Temple Street Flag.

So, if you see one of us on our fundraising come over and say Hello! If you can in any way please do and should you want to be a part of this unique Challenge contact Angi McNulty, Special Events Manager, Fundraising Oflice at 2,448 miles, Chicago to Santa Monica LA, down the Mother of All Mother Roads, with possibly the best bunch of people you could ever be lucky enough to have in your book of friends.
